WAIMATE RECORDS BROKEN

Five Swimming Times Lowered

High School Sports

Five records were broken and one was equalled at the annual sports of the Walmate High School. Betty Kaan broke two records in the girls’ events, and records in events for boys were broken by J. Sadler, R. Malthus and A. Hooke. The senior boys' championship was shared by A. Malthus and R. Jackson, who each scored 17 points. Betty Kaan won the senior girls’ championship with 20 points. The junior champions were J. Sadler (boys) and Stacey Lash (girls). The sports were to have been held on Thursday, but were Interrupted by rain.
