SOLDIER M.P.’s
ENSURING SAFETY OF SEATS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, February 22. An understanding has been entered into by the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser and Mr S. G. Holland to do everything in their power to get their supporters to vote solidly at the next General Election for members of Parliament on active service who seek re-election. This is to be done regardless of the party to which the absent soldier member belongs. The arrangement has been made to deal with a situation that may arise in the event of a person claiming to be an independent candidate or the candidate of some party other than the Labour Party or National Party contesting seats held by members serving with the armed forces.
