DRILLING FOR OIL
GOOD PROGRESS MADE By Telegraph —Press Association GISBORNE. November 22. The New Zealand Petroleum Company reports as follows: “Morere No. 1 well drilling has been resumed, and the hole has advanced to 5100 feet in hard, sandy shale. The Midhirst No. 1 well is at present at a depth of 3775 feet in grey shale. The advance of 865 feet for a fortnight is the best yet recorded.”
