Novel Competition Golf Club And Fences A challenge cup for a competition for most points gained in the Mackenzie Highland Show by a Mackenzie County family has been offered by Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P., to the Show Society. At a meeting of the committee held on Wednesday night it was agreed to accept the offer and to give the cup for the most points gained by a Mackenzie family of one household. The donation of a challenge cup to the single woman in the Mackenzie County gaining most points in cookery classes was received from Mrs J. L. McKerchar, and a miniature cup for the pacing competition was received from Mr H. Thomas. The donors of the trophies were accorded votes of thanks. An appeal from the Commanding Officer of the C.Y.C. for horses for training mounted rifles was received, and members were urged to assist in every way possible. Advice was received from the Royal A. and P. Society that increased supplies of petrol would be made available to judges, officials and exhibitors attending the show. Mr W. Scott, who presided in the absence of the president (Mr T. B. Crampton) said that the grounds committee had inspected the grounds and everything appeared to be on order except that several trees were down on the fences. All fences had not yet been re-erected by the Golf Club. It was agreed that the Golf Club be again requested to put up the fences. Mr W. L. Bourn offered to clear the timber which had fallen. The revision of the prize schedule was carried out and several alterations and additions were approved. KIMBELL The Kimbeli Miniature Rifle Club held a wind-up dance in the Kimbeli School when the cups and trophies won during the season were presented by Mr H. Greene, the founder of the club. The winners of the principal prizes were: A grade aggregate (Sutton Cup), M. U. Riddle. B grade (Hedley Greene Cup), C. H. Hide. C grade (President’s Cup), S. Page; runner-up (Mr J. W. Sangster’s Cup). T. B. Smith. D grade (Mrs Hamilton’s Cup), J. Scott; hunner-up (Mr Gardener’s Cup), W. Paton. Best six shoots (Mr W. Close's Cup), A. Waters. First possible (Mr A. S. Smith’s Cup), C. Hide. Most improved shot (Mr W. Close’s trophy), E. Waters. Consolation prize (Mr A. S. Smith's Cup), F. Fields. The president, Mr L. Carroll, thanked the women for their valuable help. The captain, Mr T. B. Smith and Mr H. Greene also spoke.
