The weather was perfect and the course in excellent order for the final day of the A.J.C. meeting. There was an attendance of 30,000 persons. Won by two and a half lengths, a length between second and third. Time—2min 4sec. Although T. Webster said that Mosaic’s failure was due to serious interference by Dashing Cavalier, the stable connections express the opinion that It was more likely due to a painful eye injury received in last Monday's Metropolitan when he was struck by a flying clod. Webster thinks Mosaic will win the Melbourne Cup. He has got the mount on Reading in that race. Dashing Cavalier is being reserved for the Melbourne Cup. Beaulivre is to start in the Caulfield Cup.
