JUDGE STABBED
Young Man Charged United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 6. Judge Burgis, chairman of the Lancashire and Cheshire Conscientious Objectors’ Tribual, was stabbed four times in the back when board ing a train at Manchester. He was admitted to hospital with severe wounds. His condition is serious. Henry Balantine Best, aged 24. a clerk, was charged at Manchester with intent to murder Judge Burgis. Best, who said he did not Intend to murder the judge, was remanded.
