WEDDING
LAWLOR—McKAY The wedding took place at the Sacred Heart Church recently of Eva Mabel McKay, only daughter of Mrs W. Spence, and Patrick James, second son of Mr and Mrs B. Lawlor, Pleasant Point. The Rev. Father J. Seymour, S.M., performed the ceremony and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Mr B. Murphy presided at the organ. The altar was beautifully decorated.
The bride who was escorted by her step father, wore a gown of deep cream satin made with a softlygathered bodice. The skirt was crosscut and fell gracefuly to form a slight train. The long fitting sleeve, shirred at the shoulders, fell to a point over the wrists. Her tulle veil was arranged into a halo coronet of a leaf design. She carried a shower bouquet of gladioli, sweet peas, carnations and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Nora Lawlor, who wore a dainty frock of Suez sheen made over taffetta, shirred fully at the bodice with a full gored skirt and dainty sleeves shirred at the shoulders. A posy of jacobici, dahlias, and sweet peas completed her toilette. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Leo. Brophy, Pleasant Point. At the reception the bride’s mother received the guests wearing a navy costume with hat to match. She carried a miniature bouquet of polyanthus roses and fern. A navy costume with hat to match was worn by the bridegroom’s mother. For travelling the bride wore a smart navy and blue frock over which she wore a navy sheer coat. A little navy toque trimmed with blue veiling to match her frock and with navy accessories completed her toilette.
