WOMEN’S DIVISION

KAKAHU BRANCH The president, Mrs Chapman, presided at the monthly meeting of the Kakahu branch of the Women’s Division. Final arrangements were made for the picnic and dance. PLEASANT POINT BRANCH Mrs Roberts presided over a good attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Pleasant Point branch of the Women’s Division. Mrs Crombie reported on the last executive meeting of the Farmers Union, and the dressmaking class to be started next March if sufficient members enrol. “Anthony Eden” was the subject chosen by Mrs Crombie for the Golden Thread talk. Mrs Roberts read the minutes of the last Advisory Board meeting, and members were in favour of the Advisory Board members acting instead of a conference being held if world affairs were still unsettled. The competitions resulted as follows: Christmas present. Miss Lyon 1. Biscuits. Miss L. Crombie 1. Siratheona 2. Premier bloom. Mrs Lyons 1. Miss Lyons 2. Peas. Mrs Crombie and Miss Crombie (equal) 1. Gooseberries. Mrs Jackson 1. Misses Lyons and Crombie were the hostesses.
