MINING NEWS The Grey River dredge won 429 ounces of gold from 90,795 cubic yards dredged in 1261 hours. The realisation, based on gold at £8 15/- (N.Z.) a fine ounce, is equivalent to 9.92 d a yard, the best yet achieved by the dredge. COLOMBO TEA AUCTION DUNEDIN, May 31. Mr L. M. Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of May 30:—In all 3,250,0001 b of tea was submitted to buyers. Common and medium teas were steady and fine grades also were firm. The quality of the offerings showed improvement. At next week’s auction 3,000,0001 b is catalogued for sale.
