CENTENARY MATCH IN PROGRESS AUSTRALIA V. THE REST United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Received December 9, 11.40 p.m.) MELBOURNE, December 9. What is described as a centenary cricket match in which Australian Test players participated began at Melbourne Cricket Ground to-day. A boisterous northerly wind proved troublesome. The teams, comprising an Australian Eleven led by Don Bradman versus The Rest, led by K. E. Rigg, attracted only a moderate crowd. Rigg won the toss and batted. The scores are: THE REST First Innings Rigg, b Fleetwood-Smith 48 Lee, run out 12 Gregory, lbw, b Fleetwood-Smith 14 S. Barnes, not out 51 Ledward, lbw, b O’Reilly 11 Bromley not out 3 Extras 12 Total for four wickets ..151 Play was stopped by bad light.
