Recess was granted in the spy trial until Monday, after Busch testified that Turrou had given a trip enabling Griebl to escape to Germany before the Grand Jury indictment could be entered. He said that Turrou telephoned to Griebl with the Information that the sub poena had expired and It would be a week before a substitute could be issued, after which Griebl embarked. Pink posteis, nailed to advertising pillars, announce that Hugo Zappe, aged 34, of Dresden, has been beheaded for high treason. The authorities have taken the unusual course of announcing the reasons. He pretended to be a Sudeten fugitive and succeeded in obtaining a position of trust and handed to the Czech secret service information endangering the security of the State.
