TO-DAY’S RECIPE

•f. SAND CAKE * ? i Take Mb butter, Jib sugar, soz J X cornflour, soz flour, 4 eggs, 1 * large teaspoon baking powder, J X some salt, and the rind of one * orange grated. Beat the butter and sugar and J $ cornflour together until they are t .£ white and beat the eggs r.nd sugar together in another basin till they are quite thick. Then add them to the flour mixture * * with the grated orange rind, ❖ t the baking powder and salt, t Bake for 1 hour in a moderate * oven in a sand cake shape, .J * which should have been pre- * v'ously well buttered.
