REMUERA EXPLOSION
INVESTIGATIONS IN HAND The cause of the explosion in the chemist’s shop of Mr R. D. Wylie, Remuera, which wrecked the shop and caused injury to five persons, has not been definitely established, but experts are investigating the matter. “We are going to have a thorough investigation inside the building to see if there are any pipes leaking, but that cannot be done until the debris has been cleared away,” said Mr R. H. Bartley, manager of the Electric Power Board. Mr Wylie said the damage in the shop alone was more than £2OOO. He was not able yet to state what was the structural damage to the building.
