HEALTH CAMP
BOYS ARRIVE IN TEMUKA Forty-six boys from all parts of South Canterbury went into camp at the Temuka District High School buildings yesterday. They are those who will comprise the boys’ portion of the South Canterbury Health Camp, and they will be in Temuka for three weeks. # Dormitories have been arranged in the primary school buildings and In fine weather the campers will take their meals in the open air at the rear of the cookery room, where the camp cook is located. Throughout the period of the camp the daily routine will provide for rising at 6.30 a.m., breakfast 8 a.m., rest for an hour, play till 12 when dinner will be served. After a further hour’s rest the boys will be given exercise, tea being served at 5 p.m. Bedtime will be at 7.30. Light morning and afternoon teas will be provided. The camp will be in charge of a registered nurse and the services of a local camp director, and his assistants will be Misses Young, Denison and Scott. Miss Barker will be the assist-ant-nurse and Mrs Barber the cook.
Practically all the requirements of the camp will be purchased locally, but gifts of vegetables and fruit will be appreciated.
