The Delhi correspondent of “The Times” reports that tribesmen in the lower Shaktu Valley killed one and wounded five South Wales Borderers, and wounded five Indian soldiers. However, tribal resistance in Waziristan is ceasing, though the Fakir Ipi and other recalcitrants are still uncaptured. In the year’s campaign, 237 Government troops have been killed, and 663 wounded. The cost of the operations has been £450,000.
