SILENCE IN GERMAN CIRCLES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, November 19. Political quarters did not comment on the Nobel Prize Award, to Lord Cecil, which is not mentioned in the press. One spokesman said: “The Nobel Prize Committee is no longer taken seriously. We no longer regard the award as an honour.” This attitude is due to the award of the 1935 Peace Prize to Carl von Ossietzky, who was out of favour with the Nazi regime.
