TIi.RU SITTINGS Only two criminal cases will be dealt with at the October session of the Supreme Court, which will open at Timaru on Tuesday next. The first of these refers to breaking, entering and theft and the second to allegations of assault causing actual bodily harm. Two civil cases will he dealt with by the Judge and jury, and two civil cases will be tried before the judge alone. There are also two undefended applications for divorce, and one application on the behalf of a bankrupt for a discharge. Criminal. For trial:— Rex v. John Henry Wilson and Henry Walton Phillips, alleged breaking, entering and theft. Rex v. John Mitchell, alleged assault causing actual bodily harm. Civil. Before a judge and jury of 12— John Courtney by his guardian, ad litem, John Courtney, v. the Timaru Gas, Coal and Coke Company Limited. £1095 damages for injuries received. Before a judge alone— William Angland v. Timothy Twomey £4OO due under agreement. Originating summons re David Stewart Gilmour, deceased. Divorce. Undefended, before a judge alone— Agnes May White v. James McChayne White, on grounds of desertion. Robert Baird v. Florence Irene Baird, on grounds of failure to comply with a decree for restitution. Two motions for decree absolute and custody. Bankruptcy. One application for discharge.
