WOMEN’S DIVISION
MAUNGATI BRANCH The July meeting of the Maungati Branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union over which Mrs Dale presided was very poorly attended, only about half the members being present. Mrs J. McCormack was welcomed as a new member. After the general business was concluded, Mrs McDonald read a very interesting article on the treatment of burns and scalds all present showing great interest in these newer methods of treatment. Two beautifully made quilts were then exhibited and it was decided to hand them over to the Plunket nurse, to give to necessitous cases. Winners of competitions for the afternoon were.—Handwork, Mrs W. McDonald 1. Three minute sponge: Mrs Peter 1, Mrs Eggleton 2. Carrots: Mrs Munro 1. Bloom: Mrs Dale 1, Mrs Peters 2.
