ISLAND CALLS
SHIPMENT OF FRUIT United Press •• »t»r ion Bv Ela/’W Telegraph fnnrrtpht CANBERRA, July 14. The Territories Branch stated to-day that arrangements have been made for vessels of the Royal Packet Navigation Company, which pass close to Norfolk Island, on the way to New Zealand, to call at the island when cargoes are available for New Zealand. A message from Norfolk Island states that the Commonwealth Government has arranged with the Burns Philp Co., to divert the steamer Morinda to Auckland, with about 1600 cases of oranges. The Morinda was scheduled to sail yesterday for the New Hebrides, but hurried arrangements were made, because the Dutch motor vessel Maetsuycker, which called at Norfolk Island on Monday to pick up a cargo of over 20.000 cases could load only 632 cases, because of the rough weather.
