BRITISH SOVEREIGNTY QUESTIONED United Proas Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright LONDON, July 14. In the "louse of Commons, the Rt. Hon. W. G. Ormsby-Gore (Secretary of state for the Colonies), informed Mr Arthur Henderson that when the New Zealand solar eclipse party arrived at Canton Island it was found that the United States tender Avocet, was anchored there., The captain of the Avocet intimated that the United States did not admit British sovereignity over the island. The position thus disclosed was now being considered.
