OBITUARY
MR J. C. LEITCH By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 15. The death occurred at Melbourne yesterday of Mr J. C. Leitch, assistant general manager of the Victorian branch of the Vacuum Oil Company. Mr Leitch was born on the West Coast where he spent his early life, later attending Nelson College. He attended the School of Mines at the University of Otago and graduated B.E. and B.Sc. He toured Australia as manager of the ’Varsity Rugby football team. After some experience of mining he joined the stuff of the Vacuum Oil Company as lubrication engineer, serving in Wellington and Canterbury. In 1929 he was transferred to the company's Victorian branch with headquarters at Melbourne, where three years ago he was made assistant general manager. He leaves a widow and two young children.
