ST. ANDREWS

EUCHRE PARTY A euchre party was held in the Public Hall in aid of the Catholic Church funds. About 60 players were present and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The prize winners were Mrs Leckie, Mrs Shea and Mr J. Kennedy. A lucky table competition was won by Mr G. Fowler. Prizes were given by Mrs P. J. Hartnett, Mrs J. Kane, Mias P. Rosevear, Miss D. O’Loughlin and Mr E. Cosgrove. At the conclusion of the cards a very enjoyable dance was held. Music was supplied by Mrs A. Joines and Mr E. Cosgrove was M.C. SCHOOL COMMITTEE At the monthly meting of the St. Andrews School Committee it was decided to make further inquiries from the Department of Health as to the possibility of joining up with the Timaru dental clinic. Repairs to the infant room recently damaged by fire have been completed. PERSONAL Miss Marion Hutton has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Mr P. Quirk has been transferred to the Makikihl railway staff. Mr W. Cartwright, Esk Valley, is visiting the North Island before leaving for Australia. Messrs R. Pye and W. Daly, Lyalldale, are on holiday in Blenheim. Mr G. Topp, Pareora, has taken up a position at Amo. Mr and Mrs G. Annett have taken up residence in Christchurch.
