GIFT EVENING
n honour of Miss Melba Smith, whose marriage will take place shortly, Mrs L. J. Bennington and Miss Betty Weaver, were hostesses at a most enjoyable gift evening at the residence of Mrs Bennington, Geraldine, on Tuesday. The drawing-room was prettily decorated with sweet peas and dahlias. Games and competitions occupied the evening, and on behalf of those present, Mrs Bennington presented the guest of honour with many beautiful gifts and wished her a very happy future. Competitions were won by Mesdames W. O. Smith, W. Tangney, C. J. Hayward and Miss Mary Charles. Amongst those present were: Mesdames L. J. Bennington, W. Smith, W. O. Smith, J. Angland, Johnson, P. Hendry, J. Barrett. W. Tangney, F. E. South, C. J. Hayward, F. Timms; Misses Melba Smith, Betty Weaver, Norma Beech, Mary Charles, Ruby Toomey, Clarice Rule and Mae Gaby.
