NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN
SOUTH CANTERBURY BRANCH The monthly meeting of the South Canterbury Branch of the National Council of Women of New Zealand was held in the Y.W.C.A. hostel. Miss Lovell-Smith presided over a meeting of 13 delegates and associated members. Apologies were received from Mrs Harvey and Miss Simpson. Arrangements were completed for the conversazione for all members of associated societies to be held in the Women’s Club on March 24. Miss Lovell-Smith said that this would be the last meeting of the Council before her departure for Dunedin, and she asked for leave of absence from the April meeting. She expressed the pleasure she had experienced as a member of the council, and her regret in leaving. From the chair she nominated Mrs Kemshed as president for th: coming year. Mr and Mrs Gregor Walmsley gave an interesting address on the aims of the physical and mental advisory board of New Zealand.
