SPIRITED DEMAND IN LONDON United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 9, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 8. At the wool sales 9296 bales were offered including 3204 from New Zealand. A total of 8234 bales were sold.- A good selection sold at full rates, chiefly to the home trade. Withdrawals came mainly from speculators in greasy merinos. New Zealand greasy merino, Lansdowne, brought top price of 211 d. average 20d. The Bradford tops trade is firm, with a tendency against buyers. There is little business, users are well covered and are reluctant io follow the rise. Yarns are firm.
