BAIL REFUSED
ASSAULT CASE By Tpiperpnh ««snHi»tlnn PALMERSTON N„ March 4 Following objection by the police, a Justice of the Peace to-day refused to grant bail in the case in which Frederick Reginald Norman Davis, a butcher and cook, was charged with indecent assault. Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike gave the grounds for the objection to bail—a remark allegedly passed by the accused from the dock to a witness giving evidence, and also the fact that accused had no ties. Accused, who denied the allegation regarding the remark, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
