ZINGARI CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS The successful season enjoyed last year and the present flourishing state of the club evoked complimentary comment from members at the annual meeting of the Zingari Football Club last night, when Mr C. W. Keinan presided over a large attendance. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr T. W. Satterthwaite and the late Mr I. Rawson, the latter having been a member of the fourth grade team. The president congratulated members on their fine showing in the competitions last season, especially in the lower grades. He thanked the coaches for their fine service and all members for their loyalty to the club. The annual report and balance sheet, showing a credit of £25 on the year’s working, were adopted. Lancaster; fifth grade, Mr C. Head; custodian, Mr A. Brown; match committee, Messrs J. Wilkinson, J. Howey, D. Hepburn, A. Stevenson and V. Bishop; auditor, Mr A. Solomon; committee, Messrs L. Auty, D. Howey, C. de Clifford, W. Rodger, B. Swain, T. Dore and N. Hoare. Nineteen new members were elected. The opening practice was fixed for March 20. It was decided to apply to the Rugby Union for the use of Fraser Park on Thursday nights for practices. Triangular Tournament , It was agreed to extend invitations to Linwood (Christchurch), and Union (Dunedin) to participate in the annual triangulai' tournament, to be held in Timaru at Easter. Best wishes were extended to the president for his holiday trip to Australia. Mr Keinan thanked members for their remarks, and wished the club every success in the coming season, during the greater part of which he would be absent. CELTIC CLUB The annual meeting of the Celtic Football Club was held in St. John’s Hall on Wednesday evening. Mr L. McAteer presided over an attendance of 80 members. In extending a welcome to all present, the chairman said the year promised to be a good one, and he impressed on all the necessity for training.

Flett; executive, Messrs J. Delury, R. Patterson, M. Kelly, G. Goddard, L. McAteer and J. O’Conner; coaches, Messrs W. Shea, D. McGregor, W. O’Leary and W. Angland; hon. secretary, P. Kyne. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the new committee that four and, if possible, five teams be entered in the competitions. Twenty-five new members were elected.

The opening practice was fixed. for March 13 at the Marist School grounds. It was decided to forward the following remit to the Rugby Union: ’’That the ages of third, fourth and fifth grade players be 21, 19 and 17 years respectively at May 1 instead of June 1."
