NEGRO DEBATERS
A SUGGESTED TOUR By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 27. The Council of Victoria University College has received a letter from the Le Moyne College, Memphis, Tennessee, suggesting a tour by a team of negro debaters in 1938. The letter states that the College is conducted by the American Missionary Association of the Congregational Church. It is prepared to pay the sea travelling expenses, but will have to depend on the colleges for entertaining expenses. The party will comprise three or four negro students and a Caucasian professor, Mr Boris C. Alexander, who is Professor of Political Science and coach of debate to the College. The Victoria College Council decided to refer the letter from the Le Moyne College to the New Zealand University Students’ Association.
