WINCHESTER
SOCIAL EVENINGS ’ There was a good attendance at the weekly dance arranged by the Social Committee of the Victoria Hall. The Monte Carlo was won by Mr John Hawke and Miss G. Bowers. Messrs J. Cripps and W. Waple were masters of ceremonies. A euchre social and dance organised by the Women’s Institute was largely attended. The competition prizes were won by Mrs J. H. Anderson, Mrs M. Hill, Messrs W. E. Knight and W. R. Pearce. The prizes were given by Messrs J. D. Parker, H. B. Strange, E. Blackmore, H. Killoh and Mr and Mrs Knight (Monte Carlo). The music for the dance was supplied by Mrs A. B. Scott, Miss D. Opie and Mr W. Priddle. Mr W. Knight controlled the floor. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr L. H. Orbell for his assistance, to the donors of prizes and the musicians. MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB At the weekly shoot of the Winchester Men’s Miniature Rifle Club, C. Louden was first with 78, 80. The other scores were:—W. Priddle 78, 79; John Cripps 77, 78; W. L. Gudsell 74, 77; O. S. Priest 76, 79; C. Higlnbottom 75, 78; S. Stonehouse 74, 77: A. Betting 72, 78; James Cripps 75, 77; A. H.
