To the Editor ot ' The Timaru Herald ” Sir,—“Undeceived” still appears to argue that G. D. H. Cole is in favour of Douglasism, we repeat that he is not correct, and we have very good and valid reasons for saying so. The matter can easily be put to the test. A letter can be Sent to Professor Cole, through you Mr Editor, signed by the secretary of this league and “Undeceived” asking him the definite question. We are willing to put this to the test, and it would be far more convincing than an extract of five or six lines taken from the context in a book. Your correspondent is quite refreshing when he suggests that we do not know of the reports of Rotary and London Chamber of Commerce. Of course we know of them, and We also know of replies from both, that they have not supported Douglasism. The London Chamber has not even considered his proposals. This is fact, and has been published repeatedly, yet Douglasites such as “Undeceived”, will still continue the misrepresentation that the London Chamber supported Douglasism. We'await your correspdhdeht's reply to our offer to put Professor Cole's views to the practical test of a personal letter to him, but we do not for one moment expect him to have the courage to take a step which will deprive him of one of his pet arguments. We are, etc., N.Z. WELFARE LEAGUE. Wellington, AUgiist 29.
