WRESTLING
A WIN ON POINTS By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, July 21. The first meeting between the two undefeated wrestlers, Earl McCready (Canada), 17.0, and Glenn Wade (America), 15.11, was staged in the Town Hall last night before a crowd estimated to exceed 3000. The bout went the full eight rounds and the decision was awarded to McCready on points. McCready proved not only the stronger but the cleverer wrestler, but Wade's defensive work was remarkable. He was heavily punished in the final round, and it was only by hanging grimly to the ropes that he prevented a fall being registered against him. The bout was devoid of showmanship.
