Admiral Sir Ernie Chatfield succeeds Admiral Sir Roger Keyes as Admiral of the Fleet. There is some comment in naval circles on Admiral Sir Roger Keyes’s retirement under the five year rule, especially as Lord Beatty continues to hold the rank after sixteen years.
