BRITISH COTTON TRADERS APPREHENSIVE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received May 1, 5.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 30. The Manchester correspondent of "The Daily Telegraph” says the new Australian duties on certain cotton goods will operate on May 1, unless there is a last-minute change of viewpoint. Traders are greatly disappointed that a fresh extension to time was not granted till the matter could be discussed with the Australian Ministers during the coming visit here.
