WAR FUNDS
ADMINISTRATION CRITICISED By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, May 1. The administration of war funds by the Auckland Patriotic and War Relief Association and the joint committee of the British Red Cross and Order of St. John, was the subject of considerable criticism at the annual meeting of the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association. The meetfng decided to send a memorial to the Governor-General asking the committee and secretary of the Patriotic Association should be removed and the committee reconstructed, with adequate representation of the returned soldiers, failing this that a public inquiry should be held into the administration of the funds. The dis~ —’on arose out of a motion strongly disapproving the refusal of the Auckland Centre of the joint committee to grant money for the provision of comforts for returned soldiers in mental hospitals.
