PRICES ADVANCE IN BRISBANE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright BRISBANE, April 30. At the opening of the wool sales, prices showed an advance of 71 per cent, on the closing rates at the Sydney sales on April 11. Competition was keen for an average selection, and the clearance was the best seen at an auction for a considerable time. LAST OF SERIES GOOD COMPETITION IN MELBOURNE. The last of the main series of wool sales for the current season commenced with good competition, and resulted in excellent clearances being effected. The market, on the whole, was practically unchanged compared with closing rates at the last series.
