A FEW HINTS
Do not wash cake tins after use. Wipe them out with a little soft, clean paper. One of my readers sent me a jar of delicious grape jelly she had made this week. It was beautifully packed. The glass jar was wrapped in paper and then put in a round tin with a lid. It travelled perfectly. Remember this next time you want to send jam by post. When you are storing your jams and pickles remember that they should not be placed. on the top shelf of a cupboard. Hot air rises, and this is apt to cause fermentation. If you want to fry potatoes successfully remember to dry them first on a clean cloth. Do not attempt to fry too many potato chips at once, or the under ones will burn and the top ones become sodden in the fat. This, of course, applies to shallow — not deep fat frying.
