SACRED HEART SCHOOL

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES At the annual prize-giving of the Sacred Heart Girls’ School, the Reverend Father Murphy S.M. presided and Reverend Mother and some members of the community were present. The distribution of the prizes was preceded by a short entertainment consisting of several choruses and recitations. After the presentation Father Murphy addressed the children praising their efforts in the past, inciting them to still more strenuous effort in the future and, after touching delicately and sympathetically on the sad side of the day’s meeting, the departure of their mistresses, he further impressed on them that there were no holidays from their religious duties, that at every moment of life souls needed the strength obtained from prayer and the sacraments. Previous to his coming to the assembly hall.
