ROCKET POST

LETTERS TO KING INCLUDED.

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 25, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 24,

Letters addressed to his Majesty will be among the 5000 despatched by a rocket between the islands of Lewis and Scarpe, off the Scottish coast, in a demonstration that the German experimenter, Herr Gerhard Zucker, is carrying out during the week-end. Herr Zucker hoped to obtain the Postmaster-General’s license to inaugurate a regular rocket post in Great Britain.

The rocket consists of aluminium and is fired from a launching rack, which determines its direction and trajectory. It travels at an enormous speed and when it reaches its destrination, parachutes gently to earth, after which the letters will be delivered through the ordinary channels.
