PRIME MINISTER’S ATTITUDE
RESIGNATIONS OF MINISTERS REJECTED United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Cod vrl gb t PARIS. July 24. A two-hour Cabinet meeting solved the crisis in the French Cabinet. The Ministry remains unchanged. M. Doumergue has refused to accept M. Tardieu’s resignation, while the radical Ministers have decided to remain in office, though their position will be considered when the Radical Congress meets in October.
M. Doumergue, addressing the Ministers, regretted that the vehement ardour with which M. Tardieu defended himself had led him to excesses, but he did not think that M. Tardieu had deliberately intended to endanger the Ministry. He pointed out that the only two courses were an unchanged Ctibinet or an entirely new Ministry, which he refused to form. Ml. Doumergue added that M. Tardieu’s and M. Herriot’s presence in the Cabinet were symbols of truce in the Ministry which was essential for public confidence. He now believed that the Cabinet was safe until the autumn enabling the pursuance of national restoration.
