CRIPPLED CHILDREN
ROTARY’S INTEREST. By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON NORTH, June 25. The sum of £2OOO has been subscribed by the Palmerston North Rotary Club towards the establishment of a crippled children's society in the Manawatu. This money has been given by means of an insurance scheme and will be'placed in trust on behalf of the crippled children’s society. The president, Mr W. G. Black, stated that 20 members of the RotaryClub had agreed to insure their lives for £IOO each. These 20 policies would be deposited with the club which would have available a reserve of £2OOO or half the total sum aimed at. This generous action, which demonstrated the reality of Rotary’s interest, would also encourage the public to assist in furnishing the remainder of the required sum. About 50 children would benefit immediately activities were commenced. The club placed on record its approval of the action of the 20 donors.
