A summarised report showing the position of the budget at the end of six months was submitted and discussed. The House Committee’s report showed that the Hostel had accommodated four permanent and 15 transient boarders during April and had assisted four others, while 29 meals had been supplied to outsiders. Gifts of apples and pears had been received from friends. Mrs Raymond reported on the meeting of the National Board and the general secretary on the National Council of Women. This would be held early in June. The report also stated that a Mother’s Club had been formed. The accommodation in the club room was inadequate to meet the needs of some of the clubs and of the Hostel, and it would be necesary to find larger quarters in town.
