HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. At the Anal meeting of the present executive committee of the Orari Horticultural Society, Mr W. E. Cook presided. It was decided to hold the annual meeting of the Society in June, and the report brought forward by the secretary and the balance sheet by the treasurer, were accepted for presentation at the meeting. The president expressed his high appreciation of the services and support accorded him by members of the committee during the last 12 months. Appreciative votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Cook and Pierce as president and secretary. MARKETING BOARD. Mr S. R. Muff, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Orari Cooperating Dairy Co., is a candidate for the vacancy on the New Zealand Marketing Board caused by the resignation of Mr J. R. Thacker, who was Canterbury's representative on that body. Contesting the position with him are Messrs T. Mould and Harris of Banks Peninsula, North Canterbury. The result will be announced at the annual conference of the South Island Dairy Association to be held in Dunedin early next month.
