MOTORIST KILLED
TRAGEDY ON HUTT ROAD. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 20. A roadster leaving town this morning shortly before 4 o’clock ran straight into the pillar of the railway bridge over the Hutt Road, near the Kaiwarra Gorge. Mr Campbell Smith, married, of Hastings, manager for Cole Ltd., who are building a chain of theatres, one of .which is the State Theatre, in Wellington, was killed, and his companion, Mr L. Sinclair, of Auckland, manager for Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd., was sent to hospital suffering from shock, a cut on the chin, and injury to the right ankle.
