MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING.
To the Editor of •* The Timaru Herald ” Sir,—As an active member of some years’ experience in above, I should like to ask through the medium of your correspondence columns for information regarding the recent rumoured disqualification of C. Blackwood, one of the best and most unassuming young
shots in South Canterbury. Should
snots in soutn uanterDurv. onouia existing rumours be correct, that he was disqualified for three years, through failing to shoot in the triangular match between Waimate, Oamaru and Timaru, what disqualification if any, was handed out to another member of the A. team, who also failed to shoot? It would be rather interesting to members of all clubs to know, should above rumour be correct, if Blackwood was asked for an explanation or was even asked to attend the meeting of the Association that passed this disqualification on to him. It would be of further interest to members to know what authority is possessed by those in power to impose a penalty of this kind. A feeling exists in local clubs that the time for Hitlerism is not yet, and such a serious menace to a growing and popular sport should be nipped in the bud.—l am, etc., SIGHTER. Timaru, October 16.
