WEDDING

WALLACE —ANDERSON. At Chalmers Church last week, Elsie Myrtle, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Anderson, Claremont, w'as married to Johi. Gordon, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. Wallace, Fairview. The Rev. A. J. H. Dow officiated, and Mr J. D. Fraser presided at the organ. The church was decorated by friends with spring flowers, blossom and lilies. The bride wore a frock of ivory satin beaute, fashioned with a pointed yoke of crinkle lace. The bodice was made with long fitting sleeves and a deep cuff of lace which tapered to a point over the hands. The plain fitting panels of the skirt fell in graceful folds to the ground. The silk tulle embroidered veil was arranged as a coronet . f orange blossom, with clusters over the ears, was gathered across the nape of the neck, and fell in folds to the ground. The charming toilet was completed by ‘a string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. She carried a sheaf of lilies and freesias. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr T. Anderson, and attended by one bridesmaid. Miss May Campbell, Timaru. Her frock was "f pale blue georgette, made on long straight fitting lines. On each side of the skirt wide frilled flares were let in. The sleeves which pointed at the elbow and then fitted to the wrist, were edged with a frill and row of pale pink buttons. A cape effect was introduced at the back of the frock, being caught at the waist line by a belt and long sash ends falling to the hem of the skirt. A large blue straw hat was worn trimmed with a posy of pink flowers and a wide satin bow across the back of the brim. She carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas, tulips and maidenhair fern, with pink streamers. Mr Allan Wallace, Balclutha, attended his cousin as best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Grand Lounge, about eighty guests being received by Mr T. Anderson and Mrs H. Anderson. The latter wore navy blue celanese relieved with white, also a navy blue bangkok hat and carried a posy of red anemones. Mrs Wallace, mother of the bridegroom wore black ring velvet, trimmed with white, and a black and white pineapple straw hat. She carried a posy of freesias. When Mr and Mrs J. G. Wallace left for the south by car the bride wore a blue celanese frock with a summer tweed coat and a straw hat to tone. In the evening the parents of the bride and bridegroom, entertained nearly 300 guests at a dance in the Fairview Hall.
