WOMEN CITIZENS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The October meeting of the Timaru Women Citizens’ Association was held on Thursday afternoon in the Y.W.C.A Clubroom when there was a fair attendance of members presided over by Mrs J. McCann. Apologies were received from Mesdames Harvey and Tayler. Several matters came under discussion. one of which was the insanitary method of collecting rubbish, the covers of the cart not being used to the best advantage. It was decided to write to the town clerk in the matter. The action of the West End Ratepayers’ Association in agitating for a penny in the slot telephone at Highfleld was approved, and it was resolved to write offering support. After the business, afternoon tea was served and a social hour spent.
