TIMARU CLU6. “HERALD” SHIELD TEAMS. The Timaru Miniature Rifle Club has entered eight teams for the “Herald” Shield, the first round of which must be completed this week. To overcome the great difficulty of getting so many men down to- the range for a second shoot during the week, the officers are arranging to fire the competition in conjunction with the weekly shoot this evening. As a further Incentive to members to turn up and to add to the Interest in the competitions, a sealed handicap aggregate covering the four Shield shoots Is being arranged, in place of the three-shoot aggregate previously arranged. This aggregate Is in addition to the weekly prizes, and the official shoot which will be fired on the Association's targets in order to make the one official shoot cover both competitions. The aggregate will be open to all members, whether In the teams or not. An entry fee of sixpence will be charged each night, until the last night of the Shield competitions. This will be the only charge in connection with the Shield, as the Club will pay the entry fees of 7/6 per team, and in addition, will allot five prizes for the aggregate.
