CHRISTCHURCH POSTMEN'S EFFORT. GENEROUS PUBLIC RESPONSE United Press Association— By Electrlo Telegraph—CoDyrigbt CHRISTCHURCH. June 25. A clothes drive organised by the letter carriers of the city was held yesterday afternoon, and resulted in the collection of more than ten thousand parcels. The generosity of householders exceeded the most sanguine expectations, and so much remained uncollected in the suburbs that a supplementary drive dill have to be organised immediately to make the sweep complete. The collection included between 7000 and 9000 pairs of boots and shoes, bedsteads end bedding, sewing machines, kitchen utensils, preserves, groceries, and produce. The postmen were assisted by Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and the Business Men's Relief Organisation.
