Mr T. Seaton is visiting Invercargill. Mr J. C. South. Winchester, is on a visit to Southland. Messrs T. G. Gee and E. Macdonald have been reappointed members of the Canterbury Land Board for two years. Mr E. Douglas Tayler, Director of Music irr the Schools, has been appointed a member of the Music Teachers’ Registration Board. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, arrived in Christchurch on Friday, from Wellington, and proceeded to his home at Cheviot. At a Reform Party conference attended by 63 delegates from all parts of the Rotorua electorate, Mr E. Earle Vaile, of Broadlands, Waiotapu, was selected subject to the approval of the party leader, the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, as the official Reform candidate for the seat at the coming general election. A cable message from Halifax (Nova Scotia), announces that Earl Bessborough was sworn in as GovernorGeneral of Canada on Saturday. The new Governor-General and the Countess of Bessborough are leaving later for Ottawa. Mr Bennett (the Prime Minister), and thirteen Ministers attended, in addition to representatives of all walks of Canadian life. The ceremony was accompanied by the booming of guns and a colourful display.
