HOCKEY.

CAMBRIDGE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Cambridge Hockey Club was held on Tuesday evening. Mr W. Gow presided over a good attendance of members. The annual report stated that the Club had had a very successful year. The senior eleven had won the South Canterbury competition for the fifth successive season. The senior five had won the South Canterbury flve-a-siae tournament for the sixth successive year. The Geraldine five-a-side tournament also was won by the Club’s team. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron. Mr W. Angland; president, Mr J. H. An near; vice-presi-dent, Messrs Clyde Carr, M.P., j. Stevenson, J. Fretwell, A. Fitzgerald, A. Brown, R. McKnight and I. McDuff; club captain, Mr H. Mann; secretary, Mr A. Goodman; delegates to the Associaion, Messrs R. Rennett and G. Annear; general committee, Messrs G. Hughes, G. Annear, R. Rennett, P. Stewart, A. Strachan and R. Brogden; grounds committee, Messrs H. Mann, P. Stewart and M. O’Connor. The resignations of Messrs J. Craig, R. Cowles and E. Sanders were accepted with regret. The following new members were elected: —Messrs R. Brogden, J. Anderson, E. Pennor and E. Pilkington. * It was decided to enter one senior and one junior team in the competition. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Rennett for the use of a room for meetings, to Mr Worthington for his work as secretary, to the lady supporters of the club and to the Press
